Show e F I THE CITY COUNCIL liusitiess Transacted at LOft Nisflits if Session The City Council met last night in reg I session in the ular session with Mayor Sharp I chair D W McAllister asked permission to erect a small furnace on Ensisn Peak in order that he might be able to test certain cer-tain clays existing there of commercial value Allowed James Howell was granted permission to run an excursion wagon without license las j he is a cripple i On July 29th B Hastings took out a three months license to run a onehorse I job wagon After running the business I but three days he closed down and now I petitions that the unexpired amount of the license be refunded him Referred to committee i Mary Ann Williams asked permission to keep a dog free of tax as she is a poor I woman Referred to License Committee Some time since the rightofway agent j of the D R G W Mr George J I Marsh made application the right and privilege to lay a parallel track six feet noth of the Utah Nevada a track on South Temple street The committee recommended that the petition be allowed the road to connect with the main track on Sixth West and with the gas works and sampling works on South Temple street provided the D R G would gravel the street upon which the track is to be laid from Sixth street to the I sampling works The committees report was laid upon the table to be considered I at some future time Mrs Burt presented a bill of 33335 for boarding the prisoners during August The Deseret National Banks bill of 7295 overdraft for August and Swaner ST Cos bill of 115 for twentytwo police badges were allowed and the amounts duly appropriated The Council then adjourned ad-journed for one week I |
