Show TIlE FINAL WIND UP Thc ttraml Jury Discharged and thc February Term Adjourned The April Term A short session of the Third District court was held last evening in order to complete the business of the term and secure an adjournment The Grand Jury came into court and reported five indictments all found under the United States laws No arrests have been made and of course it is not known who the offenders are Mr Glendenningjforeman of the Grand Jury then submitted a verbal report of i the labors of that body during the term I Thirtyone cases under the United States laws had been investigated four of which had been ignored and indictment found in the other twentyseven Twelve in dictments were found under the Territorial Territo-rial laws The Grand Jury was then discharged dis-charged The jury in the case of Wm D Clays vs D R G Railway company came into court with a verdict for plaintiff for 16000 The defendant was allowed forty days to file notice for a new trial Wm McKay presented his accounts as United States Commissioner which were approved by the court The February term was then adjourned sine die The April term will commence next Monday when a new Grand Jury will be impaneled The term will be one of unusual interest as several important im-portant polygamy cases will come up for trial among which are those hgainst Royal B Hmng and Angus M Cannon The case of the United States vs Agnes McMurrin charged with perjury is also expected to come up for trial during the next term The second trial of Michael Murphy charged with the murder of Patrick Egan will probaly take place Altogether the term will be a very busy one and is likely to last until July |
