Show BINGHAMS MINES A Little Capital Would Go a Great Way There is a great deal more going on in the way of actual mining in this district than is apparent to the casual observer Besides the mines heretofore mentioned men-tioned and those that will be in this letter let-ter there are several other properties varying in development and monthly yield and though they are not brought before the public contribute both to the mineral productions of the camp and the wealth of those who operate them Working the dumps of old abandoned claims by jigging and other processes is one of the industries of the summer season sea-son that gives scores of men employment and very well pays the leasers THE AMERICAN STAR About half a mile south of the Old Telegraph property is the American Star an old mine long ago given up as worthless worth-less About a year ago Messrs Arnett and Mansfield concluded to try their luck in it anyway During the last twelve months they have sunk over 15000 in following the vein At times they have become almost discouraged and nearly given up Finally about two weeks ago their patience and toil were rewarded by a body of ore eight feet in width The ore is rich going 40 to 50 ounces silver and 40 per cent lead In a short time a track will be put down and the working force increased to twenty men May the American Star soon shine as one of the most brilliant mines in the camp campAT AT TIlE BROOKLYN There are over 100 men employed The average monthly shipments are 650 tons This the deepest mine in the district and on a vertical line the deepest in the TerritoryTHE II TIlE YOSEMITE GROUP Consists of the Yosemite Yosemite West Extention Hydaspes Gibraltar and Grenada Gre-nada The ore product is ten tons per day The ore is firstclass running 55 per cent lead and 20 per cant silver A big force of men is employed and all is prosperous about the Yosemite OTHER MINES At the Old Telegraph property but twenty men are working They are however getting out considerable good ore and making a first rate showing Ore is being shipped from the Spanish but the mill at the mine is not yet started The Hamilton is taking out some excellent ex-cellent ore II There are twenty men working on the lead mine Yosemite No 2 is working thirty men This property is beginning to show up as one of the best in Bingham E D Egan Co are the owners The Utah owned by T K Jones is J leased bv Barratt and Martin and is making showing The Indiana is working a few men and I is looking well A good property isthe Aladin mine f Hanson has leased the Neptune Recently Re-cently he made a good shipment Most of these properties are m > rked on a small scale for the want of capital Could money be put into them it would without any doubt be a paying investment invest-ment Bingham wants capital and if moneyed men could only be induced to invest in the mines here it wouldprove I valuable to them as well as to the camp t i MILO ZIP I |
