Show HERBORN REPENTS The Skipping Hotel Clerk Ketttms the Money Young Herborn the Ekipping hotel clerk came to Salt Lake City about one year ago and has for some time been in the employ of H Brisacher at the I Palace Hotel He first did the work of porter and then on account of his haying hay-ing a crippled hand he was changed tonight to-night clerk and from that later on today to-day clerk Some weeks ago Tony after having some words with Mr B was discharged and what little money he had left was soon spent for board and lodgings He then began to despair of finding work and desired de-sired to go back to Germany On this account ac-count he offered his services to Mrs B for 5 per week and was taken back Yesterday Yes-terday he was not at his post and all that could be learned of him was from a note he had left to Mr B which said I leave because I cannot agree with some one in the house The proprietor then examined the money drawer and found that Tony had robbed it Yesterday all at the hotel expressed great surprise and they did not like to think that their young friend was quite so bad as that Today Mr B received a letter from Sandy through the Pacific Express Company which contained con-tained the stolen money and Herborns signature His better nature got away with him and he is not quite so bad I after all |
