Show ANARCHIST MUTTERINGS The Philadelphia Press in speaking oft the of-t outrageous conduct of the Chicago anarchists since the conviction of the ring leaders recently says The utterances of the Chicago anarchists nt their meeting Sunday show that law has not yet done its perfect work in that city Justice and hemp will have to pull together before things are amicably adjusted in Chicago Ir This is the general opinion throughout the country and it behooves the authorities authori-ties of that city to look well to these people peo-ple who thus defy the law and by a careful care-ful watching of their actions render it impossible for them to repeat the horrors of the Haymarket Mrs Parsons the wife of the chief actor in the dreadful business is going among those who will lend their ears to such teachings and by her manner and talk is leading them onto on-to another breech of law and order and the authorities stand idly by and permit her to do these things knowing that when the deluded people are fully aroused to anger some fearful consequence must follow There is nothing in the crime of plotting to overthrow law and order which should excuse the plotter by reason of sex on the contrary a woman is far more competent for harm doing among excitable men than a man can be and for this reason Mrs Parsons should either be made to quit her unwomanly un-womanly work or be placed where she could do no harm The coming winter will be full of suffering and punishment to the hordes of unemployed men around Chicago and when the terrors of a rigorous winter are added to their present sufferings the poor can easily be led into any step which promises even transitory relief If this woman and a few of the scoundrels who are still at large are permitted to work upon the feelings of the ignorant masses I all the authority in the city will be powerless power-less to stop the uprising which is sure to follow and hundreds of innocent lives will be sacrificed in consequence Now is the time and Chicago is the place to forever squelch the tendency to Anarchism An-archism which has grown among the people of the great cities and foremost in the list of causes to remove is Mrs Parsons and her rabid utterances to the ignorant people who only know enough of law to fear its power and to whom its influences are a dead letter Tho hope of the nation lies in the swift punishment of the men who have been convicted and the utter route of all who in any manner are tainted with the unchristian belief in Anarchy or kindred policies I |
