Show THE OFFICIAL KNOCKOUT Auditor Clayton Has Had Enough and Withdraws the Charge The charge of assault against Postmaster Postmas-ter Lynch by Nephi WClayton was set for hearing in the Police Court at 10 oclock I this morning Promptly at the appointed I time the defendant reported and the case I was then postponed until 2 oclock this afternoon when Mr Lynch again presented pre-sented himself before the bar for trial Prosecuting Attorney Geo B Fletcher addressed the Court and paid he was of the firm belief that the entire difficulty I had grown out of a little misunderstand ing between the two officials and he would therefore move for a dismissal of the case and that Mr Lynch be released from custody and his surety of 100 re funded which was accordingly done Mr Lynch seemed greatly surprised at I Auditor Clayton not appearing against I him after so much had been done toward I a case that would have ended in a fine no doubt but might have stirred up some I unpleasant matters of a delicate nature which Mr Clayton perhaps would as I I soon not have aired Thus dies in the bud another article the reporters have longingly hoped to make into a sensa tional column |
