| Show KNOCKED OUT SUMMIT COUNTY The Peoples Party Watcrloocd at the Hanus of the Miners Everything went off quietly at the election at Park City although a row was imminent at one time during the day I seems that an old Mormon who is reputed to be living with two women whom he calls his wives at Alta Little Cottonwood stationed himself at the polls and seemingly made it a point to challenge the votes of some of the old and wellknown citizens of the Park Some pretty harsh words were indulged in toward the representative of the Peoples Peo-ples party and it was only through the exertions of the candidates and the more exertons soberminded citizens that the Saint did not get his political ardor cooled in the creek During the earlier part of the day the votes came in slowly but in the afternoon after-noon there was a perfect hurrah and the crowd pushed their way lively to the polls There were 872 votes cast 27 of which were scratched or for the Peoples party leaving a total of 845 solid for the Liberal ticket As the votes swelled in volume the excitement ex-citement became intense and bets were freely offered and taken on the result I had been freely circulated that a vote of 900 would insure the election of the Liberal ticket and as the vote swelled towards that number much hand shaking and congratulations were indulged in As indicated by the returns now in it is an assured fact that the Peoples party has been knocked out of the political ring in Summit county |
