Show I QUEEN OF THE HILLS Union Miners Eager t Return t Work Body of Rich Ore Judge Hunter returned from Idaho Thursday night and the following was learned from him today in regard to the condition of affairs at the Queen of the Hills mine There are aboutthirty men at work at the mine at present many of whom are Union men Owing to the fact that the concentrator has not been in working order a full force could not be worked at the mine but the mill has now been started up and the force on the mine has been increased Applications for work at the reduced rates are received from Union miners daily and it is thought the power of the Union is broken The Union expels ex-pels members as fast a they go to work but does not attempt violence now Fourteen Four-teen guards are stationed at the Queen of the Hills and Minnie Moore mines but it is not thought their presence will be required re-quired much longer The winze that is being sunk from the lower level in the Queen is now down fifty feet and from near the top is in a six foot body of very rich galena This is said to be the finest body of ore that has been encountered fn the mine The prospects of the Queen were never brighter and it is expected ore shipments will be resumed at an early day I |
