| Show BIG COTTONWOOD NOTES Tlse 2 resel1t VorJt in the mines of TSilS Noted District Mr James Monk recorder for Big Cottonwood Cot-tonwood mining district was met this afternoon af-ternoon and stated to a reporter that he had just finished complete canvass of the district and found onethird less snow this spring than heretofore A great many prospect are commencing to flock up the canyon to begin work At Mill B South Fork some work haw been done all winter on the King mine Shaft number one is down thirtyseven feet with a vein three feet thick t Number two shaft is down fifty feet with a vein the same thicknes0 An open cut down the hill twentyfive feet to the bottom of the shaft shows the vein four feet thick A tunnel has been run from the head of Mineral Fork 150 feet from the last cut named and a vein hap been struck l nine inches thick There is at least 200 tons of ore in sight averaging a ton I At the Silver Mountain mine Mineral Fork three men are running a level to strike the main shaft They have about eight inches of ore at the bottom of the shaft of fair grade I The Prince of Valcs employs twenty eight men who have worked the mirfc all winter The boys are turning Out plenty of good rich ore and the camp is promis inn ingThe The Monk tunnel situate at Areenta is in 145 feet and was run to tap the Dolly Varden vein Mr Monk expects to strike the vein within ten feet and to show some firstclass ore The Maxfield is now shut down on account ac-count of water |
