Show THE GRAND JURY Incidents That Transpired Yesterday Yester-day Afternoon and Evening It was intimated in yesterdays DEMOCRAT DEMO-CRAT that the affairs of 0 P Arnold were being investigated by the Grand Jury and it afterwards transpired this surmise was well founded The Grand Jury presented pre-sented two indictments yesterday afternoon after-noon one under the laws of the United States and the other under the laws of the TVirrifnn MViTeliol Trnlnnrl Im 1 peared at Mr Arnolds residence in the evening and placed him under arrest He was taken to Commissioner McKays office and released on 1500 bonds G SErb I S-Erb and J T Little appearing as sureties He is charged with unlawful cohabitation I The Grand Jury was also inquiring into in-to the conduct of one Helaman Pratt I said to be absent on a Mexican mission The alleged second wife Dora Wilcken Pratt was called and among other questions ques-tions was asked if she and Victoria Pratt the first wife had not both lived with Pratt at the same time as his wives This question the witness declined to answer an-swer whereupon she was marched into court and the circumstances of the case related to Judge Zane The court informed in-formed the witness the question was a I proper one and that she would be required to answer it She then returned to the jury room and it is presumed gave the jurors the information they desired |
