Show THE THIRD DAY Blaizwood Wins the Trotting Race Echo and Daniel B Win the Dashes Yesterday was the most favorable day at the Driving Park since the meeting opened the only drawback being a rather slim attendance which however was in some degree made up for by the amount of enthusiasm shown THE TROTTING MATCH 2 40 class for a purse of 250 with Blaizwood Denny Ryan and William M j as entries was the first race announced William M took the pole Ryan the mid dIp nlnna onrl TUni UYinrJ the Outside The first heat was between William M and Blaizwood Denny Ryan having dropped l behind at the start and remaining remain-ing there throughout the heat Soon after the start Blaizwood cut William off and thus gained the inside track but William made good time on the last half and came in a little over a length behind He was however given the heat on account of the foul driving of Blaizwood The time made was 2 37f I In the second heat William lost badly I in the first quarter by a break and soon j afterward Ryan followed suit Blaizwood thus had things all his own way and it was only by his driver drawing him upon up-on the last quarter that he saved William from being distanced Time 2 39Jf The third heat might have been taken by William M but for a couple of bad breaks which gave it to Blaizwood William came in second and Ryan third Time 242U TIlE THREEQUARTER DASH The entries were Echo Ida Glenn and Vice Regent Purse 200 Vice Regent lost at the start and the first half mile was closely contested by the other two horses Vice Regent gained on the last quarter and took second place Echo won in 120 TIlE SEVENEIGHTHS DASH The last race of the day was between Daniel B and Argo Argo was left behind be-hind soon after the start and remained there during the dash Daniel B thus won easily in 1 34 |
