Show A little karma in the parking lot Jonathan Long Opinion Editor Parking on campus is a ridiculous feat in itself Onan Onan On Onan an overcrowded campus parking spots are rare and few to come by At times they create rivalry between drivers over desired spots usually settled with a wave of the middle finger Because parking is such sucha a coveted prize often more than not students are willing to arrive hours before their classes begin just to find a decent place to park their vehicle with without without without out having to travel a few miles across campus to get getto getto getto to class Though this is a solution to finding a chance to get some quality study time in it also slows down the turnover rate of available parking stalls for other students on campus In a world of demand the best always goes to the highest bidder In past services on campus has been given the power through necessity and demand to divide up lots on campus Even in the world of parking lots inequality rears its ugly head Parking becomes a sticky issue across campus for those lacking the luxury of front row accommodations In the unfortunate era of limited and time-consuming time public transportation the overbearing circumstance of full parking lots add more constraints to time filtered days students pack their schedules around With limited options of mass transportation to campus and UTA acting like the bureaucratic snails they are little headway has been made in efforts to extend a line to any of the campuses To the time-pressed time student filling their days between classes studying and often holding down full- full fullor or time part-time jobs inconvenient parking spots on the outskirts of campus do little more than take takeaway takeaway takeaway away precious time Unfortunately we were raised in a world of easy access and convenience It becomes a battle in almost any parking lot to find the closest spot to the door Sometimes people w will even circle parking lots just to get a front row spot and pass up a stall farther often away times wasting more time in search of convenience over necessity So as the fall season approaches and the school once more swells with students the easy parking lifestyle of the summer semester disappear for another year Remember to judge your parking stall choice according to need not want |
