Show LETTERS TO THE EDITOR Disrespects and Offends Veterans To The Editor Last Tuesday the of June a bomb exploded in Saudi Arabia Having recently returned from Saudi Arabia and seeing the very room I had stayed in reduced to rubble this explosion hit home to me My heart immediately ached for those American service service service ser ser- ser ser- vice members who lost their lives and to those who were injured in the blast The loss of life is the greatest price we can pay for our country These people just like many before them did just that President Clinton asked us to honor these people by flying our flags at mast half-mast until Sunday and I was shocked and insulted when I came to school on Friday to see all the flags at the College flying at full mast Is this an institution of higher learning or is it like many say just justa school a glorified high Is it too much to ask to lower our flags in memory of those who died in this tragic incident As a veteran still been in myself and as one who very well could have that building when tragedy struck I say No As I drove around that day I saw many companies honoring my fellow soldiers and airmen One of these companies was McDonalds I was very proud of these companies for their though thoughtfulness ulness and at the same time ashamed of my college for not remembering Although this is supposedly an institution of higher learning maybe we can learn leam more at McDonalds Dan R.
