| Show Graphic Design department added for publicity of activities Kyle Spencer Staff Writer This year a graphic design artist was added to Student Activities The purpose of oJ this position is to put out professional professional professional quality publicity for Student Activities in the form of posters tickets tickets tickets tick tick- ets t-shirts t and banners Jeannie Applegate who holds an AAS degree from runs the program All of the posters and flyers on made on this campus are done on a ar r 3 at copy machine Jeannie has 55 r had to learn to manipulate every machine on earn campus pus in order to crank out the hundred plus posters she does on a weekly basis The high quality typography that she has used has come from the desktop publishing capabilities done by Rick Weeks and Don Brooksby in inthe inthe inthe the Horizon office Applegate has a very nice office with good equipment and capabilities and has met the needs of the College Activities Board this year She would like to see the program expand next year First Applegate would like to see graphic art students participate in the design lay out and printing of CAB publicity Second she would like to expand campus wide and make the CAB office a ahome ahome home lome base which would encourage encourage encourage en en- courage continuity of campus publicity Third she would i like to utilize higher quality methods of printing such as typesetting silkscreen printing printing printing print print- ing and use of the practical which the art students possess The present officers feel that expansion of the program is in order and would be the logical step to take next year |
