Show Graduates And College t Students Put A c r In Your a Applications i For Positions 4 With The Resource Management I The Student Co Conservation Association Association tion offers college students recent recent recent re re- cent graduates and other persons 18 years old or older the opportunity J through a a. conservation program involving actual field experience to develop job skills skills' gain work experience and cultivate professional contacts in the resource management field Through the Resource Assistant RA Program selected volunteers work independently or assist conservation professionals with such tasks as wildlife e surveys natural history interpretation back country and wilderness patrol and biological h or archaeological research In return for their efforts volunteers develop skills and gain experience that often rw r w i t enhance their college education and give them an edge in seeking paid employment with these resource management agencies The program also offers students the opportunity to explore possible career choices While carrying out their assignments selected volunteers to these programs will receive a travel grant for round trip transportation to their program area and a weekly stipend to help offset food and basic living expenses Free housing is provided by the hosting agency at or near the work site The is presently accepting requests for applications and listings of the positions that are being offered during the 1987 summer and fall season Positions are being offered in over resource areas in 35 different states including Alaska and Hawaii Positions begin at varying dates throughout the summer and fall Any person that is interested in participating or learning more about the program should send a postcard requesting an application and listing of the summer fall RA position to The Student Conservation PO Box Charles Charlestown town NH or telephone the at w r k 4 I |
