E Roswell Student We W e are alive 1 ve and v well ll trying hard to keep up with the change of High Technology said Neil Nell Grover Grover- r division division- chairman of the the- Metals Auto-Metals d department at Utah Tech While people are being laid off ind industry stry is b busy sy vamping re-vamping their business's to include High Technology Industry is is-a is a Sleeping Giant awaiting a to be bea beva a awakened va ened according to Grover and people will need to be retrained in order tobe tobe to tobe be re The Metals Auto-Metals department is doing their best to keep up with the High Technology skills needed in industry in order to train their students However funds are limited A part nine-part course will be offered in March in Inter-Industry Inter Conference on Auto Collision Repair Parts one and two ar are being offered in March One area being cover covered d will be on the new front wheel drive c cars rs Grover pointed out that there is a big difference in the procedure of doing alignment on the new cars and on the older models People out in industry now cannot fix the new cars stated Grover s so they must come back to school for or more training Aviation Maintenance Technology will be a new course to be offered hopefully in March The department is working very hard on it and has h-as students showing interest in the class However it will be open to 25 students at the beginning These students will be selected by industry Staff faculty members and students may have their cars worked on as project cars in the department The following policies and pro procedures will b be applied to all automotive project cars 1 I.
