Show POST WAR PROBLEMS one of the many problems for which no solution seems to be in sight as we take account of suggested plans and postwar post war programs is the racial problem the issue issue in involves both political and social equality according to one writer and is being aggravated by both major parties which are trying to secure votes through advocating equality among races from various places we also learn of the growing alarm in some cities as result of the increase in the negro population and much concern is expressed in regard to the attitude of this race when the war ends and many are thrown out of employment A writer in los angeles where the negro 11 population has increased more than 86 per cent since the outbreak of the war wonders what these folks will do when war plants close causing unemployment and more confusion he defines the situation as one of alarm because of the promises that have been made and are being made to the negroes by communistic jews and other radical groups ile he describes the negro as no problem atall at all if left alone he further says that most of them are christian sincere and eager to make for themselves a place in ift life this b being eing i the case and we believe it is true since we knew many of the finer type of negro in the ea east st it is a great pity that so many ara are being misled now another danger in the offing z is the promise of new and improved methods of living finer automobiles and so many of the things which have been impossible to buy and which are necessities to the average Z person the sale of war bonds has been stepped up as result of such promises although we notice a change of opinion on the part of those who are told what to say say over radio or through the press as we near the end of the war in europe and the powers that be realize that to make such promises is dangerous we are now told it will take a longer time than was ex expected act ed to produce the promised luxuries and many of the necessities and even though some war production plants are closed and many more will close with a declaration of peace it will be impossible to reconvert these factories in a hurry and therefore impossible to offer many of the heretofore promised improvements perhaps one of the biggest problems of all will be the de mobilization demobilization of men in the armed forces many of whom will be eager to return to their homes but who will be delayed or sent into other sections to serve in the occupied oun countries tries of europe or forced to continue the fightlin figh tin the south pacific area when the war in europe ends grave responsibility rests on the shoulders of military and naval commanders who must make decisions of this kind and it remains to be seen what the solution will be when seasoned fighters who have served many months are ordered to continue their time of service rather than be released because the coming peace will not be established in all theatres theartres the atres of war at the saine time and because it will be of short duration will complicate matters there never was a time in the history of man when so many problems existed at one and the same time it is truly a time of tribulation and it will continue until the real peace is declared which no man nor group of men will declare but only god in his infinite wisdom will bring about when the hatred of man for ma man n and nation for nation is spent and the destruction of all that is evil is complete the third world war is not as far off as some folks think in fact it will be a continuation of the present unrest in the world which will go on and on in some quarters as civil war will continue in some form or other in all countries we in america will have to go through turmoil and strife within our own borders because the leaders will disagree and our problems will multiply the moment peace is declared in europe in spite of what churchill or roosevelt may now say about the war being extended many months the hoped for peace will come soon and quite unexpectedly since the planet planetary lary forces and other unseen forces at work cannot and will not fail there is every reason to look for temporary peace at any moment as we have predicted for weeks past |
