Show camp news on july 26 1939 eighty six men arrived at the indian creek camp from fort dix N J raising the strength of this company to men upon their arrival they we were re issued clothing and equipment and were put through a 3 day orientation program A pamphlet issued by mr howard M benson camp educational adviser outlined a three day conditioning course and furnished the new arrivals with information and regulations pertaining to the camp an effort was made to place each man previously e employed at an employment which was familiar to him and which would benefit both himself a and na d the company it is expected that a great many of the recruits would be sent to the various side I 1 camps shortly expected to be in operation monday august 1 marked the arrival of mr ivanoff subaltern recently transferred from the hanksville Hanks ville camp mr ivanoff immediately assumed his duties under mr albert B woolums company commander with the arrival of the new men the camp educational program i went into full swing classes in both academic and vocational subjects and job training classes will start at this time classes will be held on the f first three nights of the week with thursday reserved for company and safety meetings mr E W field district educational adviser and mr prager safety engineer for the division of grazing paid an inspection visit to the camp last friday mr field expressed himself as being well pleased with the educational program in general and especially the erien orientation tation program for the new recruits frank J obrien assistant educational cat ional adviser camp reporter |
