Show SEARCH FOR THE MISSING LINW LINK from the time that darwin first advanced his theory 0 of f evolution scientists have been searching for the missing link that fits into the picture between man and his tree romping progenitors with little or no satisfying results and for the past year the Mont elores chamber of co commerce in embodying the commercial clubs and civic bodies of this tri state section and the canada to mexico north and south highway commission have been wrestling with a similar missing link problem for a year or more the route of this proposed traffic artery has been mapped from canada south as far as possible and from mexico north is as far as possible but so far only one way has been discovered for getting around possible and that is via highway from cortez cortex to monticello north through moab and back through thompson to grand junction and our colorado friends are not willing to concede that they are riot not self sufficient by conceding this missing link to utah and so at the monthly meeting odthe Mont elores chamber of commerce held in dove creek last monday night they voted to again table indefinitely a motion to complete the map by inserting the only existing all season route now available they prefer to let the gap remain as is until they can complete a project now planned on highway hoping that it may prove feasible for winter travel the Mont elores chamber of commerce is purported to be an interstate inter state organization with units representing all parts of the san sail juan basin state lines are not supposed to mean anything and so it is hard to understand their reluctance luc tance to designate the loop around this way until they can complete some other through highway either over or 80 to give a shorter and more direct connection at which time of course the map would be altered to meet the im improved condition it just seems to be a case of the insolubility of the vexed missing link problem or could it be an example of the truth of the axiom there is none so blind as he who wont see |
