They're here to begin an ongoing program of purchasing goods from the United States. In the weeks ahead, executives execu-tives of Korean businesses i will travel to companies across the United States to make actual purchases and to begin negotiations on future contracts. Their shopping list I includes such products as cotton, cot-ton, coal, grains, machinery and electronics. "We are intent on building a positive trade relationship r with the United States," said J Jin-Ho Kum, Korean Minister of Trade and Industry, adding that successful trade relationships rela-tionships are a two-way street. P In addition to purchasing American goods, the Koreans are expected to explore other avenues for economic cooperation cooper-ation between the two countries coun-tries a move that could ce-j ce-j ment ties as well as provide greater job security for a greater number of Americans. |
