Show JOANNE DEHAAN BECOMES BRIDE OF GORDON H. SMITH Honymooning in California are just-weds Mr. and Mrs. Gordon N. Smith. The new Mrs. Smith, the former Joanne Dellaan, and Gordon N. Smilh exchanged vows in the Solemnity of the Salt Lake LDS Temple Friday. Elder Mark E. Petersen Pet-ersen of the Council of the Twelve officiated. A wedding breakfast, in the president's room of Hotel Utah, was hosted by parents of the bridegroom, bride-groom, Mr. and Mrs. Nathaniel A. Smith, 724 10th Ave., immediately following the ceremony. A reception at the Bonneville stake house feted the young couple Friday evening, with the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John E. De-Haan, De-Haan, 2123 East 17th South, hosts. A brown and gold baroque screen adorned with fall flowers, golden wedding bells and grape garlands formed the beautiful fall background back-ground for the bridal party. The lovely bride greeted her many friends in an original gown of white satin, tulle and lace. The bodice was fashioned of chantilly lace and styled with a yoke of tulle with delicate lace edging the neckline. Sequins and pearls accented ac-cented the bodice The long sleeves tapered to lily points at the wrists, were outlined with narrow tulle ruffles. Four inserted panels of chantilly lace enhanced the full-length full-length skirt. Fashioned of bridal illusion, the fingertip veil was held in place by a small cap of sequins and seed pearls. She carried a bridal bouquet bou-quet of white orchids and feathered carnations. Mrs. Richard Pexton, Mrs. Don Lee, Mrs. O. Mason, Lynda De-Haan, De-Haan, gowned in cinnamon-colored lace over taffeta with matching lace hats, were attendants to the bride. Terri Gay Bardole and Sandra San-dra Brown, in frocks of gold net over cinnamon taffeta, as flower girls, carried miniature bouquets of chrsyanthemums. For traveling on her honeymoon the bride wore a charcoal gray suit with matching accessories. The new bride, who has been the inspiration for many lovely prenuptial parties, was entertained by Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Clem F. Tebbs, Mrs. Frank J. Bardole, Mrs. Horace Crandall, Mrs. Gordon Rodgers, Miss Momi Clissold, Miss Louise Facer, Mrs. Graham Doxey, Mrs. Pexton, Mrs. Robert L. Ridgley, Mrs. Melvin Teerlink, Mrs. Howard How-ard Tate, Mrs. Clark Caldwell and Mrs. Jack Johns. |
