Show Utah University Marching Band Seeks Recruits The University of Utah Marching March-ing Band hung out the "help wanted" sign Friday. Ranked as the third finest collegiate col-legiate marching band in the nation, na-tion, the fast-stepping collegiate marching band in the nation, the fast-stepping Crimson and White contingent is seeking 150 members mem-bers for next fall. Highlight of the schedule will be a trip to Los Angeles for Utah's football opening against UCLA in the Los Angeles Coliseum, Colis-eum, scene of the band's first national na-tional triumph in 1948. The Utes will march under direction di-rection of Forrest D. Stoll, former assistant director of bands at Ohio State University, who will arrive on July 1 to succeed Dr. Ronald D. Gregory. Dr. Gregory has accepted ac-cepted a new assignment at the University of Indiana. Applications will be accepted in the band office, Building 453, U. of U., any time, said Ralph L. Gochnour, assistant director. Try-outs Try-outs for drum major and majorettes major-ettes will be held soon after Mr. Stoll's arrival. |
