Show "Centurama" Is One Word Theme For Utah State Fair Another year, another fair, but the year 1956 marks something special for the people of Utah. We have chosen a word that will signify our theme for the complete fair program CENTURAMA! One hundred years of achievement. achieve-ment. From ox cart to jet from conastoga to diesel! This year will be our pageant of progress, combining the old with the new. Reliving the days of a century ago, admiring our present day achievements, and looking forward into future possibilities. possi-bilities. Yes, this will be a fair long remembered. Once again "Holiday on Ice" will be one of the feature attractions. Each year running at full capacity. capac-ity. A new and different thrill act imported from Denmark, just for the Utah State Fair Centennial. The Allen Act, performs 120 feet in the air. A motorcycle is enclosed en-closed in a wheel and two lovely girls literally hanging by their necks on poles projecting from the revolving wheel. For the first time at the Fair, the world famous "Dancing Waters" will be shown. "PoPo" the clown, a perennial favorite with children and adults for the past two years will once again entertain us with new and different acts and novelties. This is only the beginning, other entertainment is in the making. The Utah State Fair Board is making an "allout" effort to have the finest exhibits in their particular partic-ular departments in history. We offer to the public, sights only seen once in a hundred years! YES, THIS IS "CENTURAMA!" |
