Show Art Exhibit, Hobbies In Holladay More than 2000 art enthusiasts attended the Holladay art show Thursday and Friday nights at the Holladay elementary school. Contributions in many new fields marked this year's annual exhibit which is sponsored by the Parent-Teacher Parent-Teacher Association of the school. Of special interest were the photography pho-tography displays entered by the Holladay Art Graphic club whose members, Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn Severson, took charge Thursday night. The following evening Dr. Frank Daughters showed colored slides of his war experiences in Korea. Paintings predominated the exhibit ex-hibit while the antique collection and lovely ceramics vied for the visitors' attentions. The school children's art display dis-play elicited delighted comments from parents and visitors alike and gratitude was expressed by the association to W. Francis Bailey, principal of Holladay elementary, and his teachers for their splendid cooperation during the successful show. Attractions which were new to the exhibit this year included a gun display and leatherwork entered en-tered by Mr. and Mrs. P. O. Ackley. Hobby work in metals wood, needlepoint need-lepoint and figures created interest from the spectators. General chairmen were Mrs. Keith Brown and Mrs. Clyde Thompson. |
