Show Granite Song and Dance Review Draws Standing Room Only Crowd erine McKay on the Tree while Julie Whitaker and Suzanne Smith danced. Maxine Poulton and Judith Skols were featured dancers in Crawdad. Juan Valenzuela showed new maturity and polish in "Motherless "Mother-less Child." Virginia Ralphs was feature performer in "The King's New Clothes." Linda Whitaker, Gay Blanchard, Robert Blake, were also featured dancers. Choir soloists included Louise Johnson, Joan SchoenfeM, Charles Taylor, Robert Lindquist. Vere' L. Mathews created the delightful dancers costumes. Ruth Burke charmed and captivated cap-tivated an SRO audience gathered at Granite High School auditorium audito-rium Tuesday evening for a Granite Arts presentation. The accomplished teenage miss was one of the featured dancers in the dance ensemble with the Choreodancers, Children's Dance Theatre and Brigham Young University Uni-versity A Capella Choir, vacity in Chabrier's "Suite Pas-vcaity Pas-vcaity in Chabrier's "Suite Pastoral" Pas-toral" brought curtain call after curtan call. Sharing honors was Beth Olsen, choir soloist. Her breathtakingly sweet soprano voice added much depth and understanding to the "Cherry Tree Carol" dance. For absolute fun there was Janet Lish's "Cindy," Linda Call's slick "Fightin' and Feudin". Also on the humorous side was "The Quest of the Ribband," a poem read by Joan Penman and danced by Janice Day. The Suite Pastoral was the lov-liest lov-liest piece of the evening, but "Darkness of Freedom" was the most exciting. The vibrant choreography choreo-graphy on this number was by Janice Day, who danced in it with Janet Lish, Shirley Ririe, Robert Blake and Juan Valenzuela. More choreography by Janice Day was seen in the rolicsome "Set Down Servant" wit the Choreodancers and the Choir. Reed Hansen drew applause for his vocal rendition of "Berry Tree" and "Crawdad," both of which he arranged. Music was provided by pianist Gay Blanchard, flutist Joyce McKay and violinist Cath- |
