Show POWER COMPANY OUTPUT UP Utah Power & Light Co. announced an-nounced this week that it has spent $84.5 million since the end of World War II to nearly double its electric elec-tric generating capacity. In UP&L's 1953 annual report, George M. Gadsby, board chairman chair-man and president, said: "An additional $25 VI million will be spent for expansion in 1954, this includes money to be spent this year on two new power plants, one at Salt Lake City, the other at Castle Gate in Carbon county." The report further disclosed that: 1. The company and subsidiary last year generated an all-time high of 2.1 billion kilowatt-hours of electrictiy; 2. Operating revenues rose to $30,062,440 in 1953 compared with $26,158,211 the year before. 3. Net income totaled $4,803,970 as against $4,689,146 in 1952. |
