Show MALOUF GRANT BEGMS FUND Through the generosity and thoughtfulness of A. B. Malouf, a member of the board of trustees of Westminster College, a foundation founda-tion has been established which, in years to come, will benefit humanity in this area. The incorporated business will initially engage in the contribution contribu-tion to such organizations which are clearly qualified as accepted charitable, educational, scientific, non-profit, tax exempt bodies as classified as such by the bureau of internal revenue They will conduct studies, surveys sur-veys and conferences in order to discover the groups, individuals or activities needing attention, and to suggest and advance solutions to problems involved. Malouf said, "In these troubled times it is fittinf and nrooer that any man who can do so should j fulfill commandments of Our Lord Jesus Christ to share one's ! estate with his fellow man. "In these days when the shroud of uncertainty and want covers so many of mankind it is the privilege and duty of the fortunate few to help the needy many. In this spirit of gratefulness in this 1 spirit of humanity, we dedicate ourselves, to engage in, carry oh, I and promote in any lawful way, i any and every kind of charitable social welfare, educational, recreational recrea-tional and relief work and activity and the rendering of any and all other kinds of public service designated des-ignated as by the board of directors." di-rectors." Elected as the first board of directors were: A. B. Malouf, president; pres-ident; President J. Richard Palmer Pal-mer of Westminster College, vice president, and John Wallace, secretary-treasurer. Malouf came to the United States at the age of 16, and after a business of selling from door to door, he later opened a store in Provo. Later the three brothers merged in business, which is now the well known Mode-O-Day shops. Malouf has been interested in Civic affairs and contributed much to the city of Los Angeles and also Logan educational unit. |
