Show Woman of the Week the youth, something she also does at the school and salon. She has enabled many girls to complete a beauty course; thus launching them into an interesting and pleasant pleas-ant career. She is in the shop five days a week and enjoys her work with students and empolyes as they enjoy en-joy her fine advice and sense of humor. There's Gladys Brown, career woman as owner-instructor of Card's Beauty School and Salon, housewife, mother and grandmother. grand-mother. Gladys was reared on a cattle ranch in Colorado and prior to her marriage attended business college in that state. After her marriage to Berry Brown the couple lived in Arizona and New Mexico. It was in Phoenix, Arizona, where Mr. Brown was a government employe, that Gladys attended beauty school. And although she had a home to keep and four small children chil-dren she successfully completed her beauty course. Following her graduation from beauty school she opened a marcel mar-cel salon near the Apache Reservation. Reserva-tion. Later the Browns moved to Gallup, Gal-lup, N. M., where they opened a beauty shop; later moving to Salt Lake for educational advantages for their family of four sons and three daughters. One son, Merwyn, is in the army, and the daughters are married mar-ried but there remains plenty of action at the Brown home at 580 Commonwealth Ave., with the .younger sons, JOhn and Jim. iQladys has worked actively in "Jier church and especially with |
