Show 'humane effort FOR . ANIMALS - Sugar House chapter of the National Na-tional Society of the Sons of Utah Pioneers enjoyed a gay Christmas party last week at the Lion House at which two awards of distinction were made. Horace A. Sorensen, national president, presented Miss Grace Johnson, president of the Animal Rescue League, with an award of merit for her part and the league's part in humanitarian rescue work of animals. President Sorensen also gave a plaque of merit to Richard E. Lambert, past SUP president and a ugar House businessman, for his work in spearheading the SUP Hole-in-the-Rock trek in 1955. Marion G. Romney of the LDS Council of the Twelve, was guest speaker. Dr. Alma Cottan, Sugar House, was in- charge of the program, and Dorothy Kimball Keddington presented some musical numbers. Miss Ottley, daughter of the Warren War-ren Ottleys of ' the Sugar House Paint Pot, presented Christmas readings, and a ladies' trio concluded con-cluded the program. During the presentations, it was pointed out that the Rescue League had saved more than 3000 animals during the past year. |
