Show AN INCREASE IN FOOD , SALES I Community Service Release 188. An increase of nearly $1,000,-000,000 $1,000,-000,000 in retail food sales during dur-ing 1944 makes it necessary for every food retailer to redetermine i the group in which his store be-1 longs effective March 5, It is important that all retail food stores be classified on the basis of their gross sales during, their most calendar year. At the present time they are classified on the basis of their 1943 sales. The four groups of stores are: annual gross receipts of S.10,000 annua gross receipts of $50,000 or less than $250,000; Group 2, chain stores with annual gross receipts of less than $250,000, and Group 4, any store with gross receipts of $250. 000 or more. A chain store is defined as one of four or more stores under one ownership, whose combined gross I sales are $500,000 or more a year. I It is believed, that the majority majori-ty of the stores will not have to transfer their stores to another group. Those who do will have un-til un-til March 29 to refigure their re-tail re-tail price ceilings. This is done by applying the mark-up permitted for the new store group to the j net cost on which their present ceiling prices are based. a |
