MANY CHANGES IN POINT VALUES Community Service Release 187. Several important changes have been made in the ration point val ues for meats and canned foods this month. According to informa tion received by the Board, beef cuts are down two to three points for such cuts as T-bone steaks but cheaper cuts such as short ribs have been raised Prim rib roasts remain the same as do rib steaks and rump roasts. Mutton stills remains point-free point-free and no change has been made in lamb point values, The majority- of the pork cuts have been raised in point value one to three points, and some items have been returned to the ration list. Among the returned items are ham hocks, pig knuckles, and p',ate or .ioul bacon. Only one change has been made for veal cutlet's have been cut from thirteen thir-teen to ten points. No changes have been made in cheese points values, but some ready to eat meats have been uped one to f've points. Lard, shortening, salad and cooking oils have been raised to four points a pornd and margarine mar-garine is upped to five points a pound. There has been no reduction in point vflne of canned fruits and vegetables. The vegetables remain the same with the exception of tomatoes which have raised in point value beyond the ounce can size. Canned apples or applesauce apple-sauce has been redded eyond the fourteen ounce size. Canned cocktail, peaches, pears and pine apples have all been increased in point values beyond the teven ounce size. A |
