Show REVIVE ANNUAL DRAMA AT B.Y.U. ' In compliance wth the wishes j of the U. S. government ofc'icials I and in cooperation with the Utah , State High School Activities As-sociation, As-sociation, the Brignam Youn; :j University will revive its annual - drama festival, April 6' and 7, Dr. ; T. Earl Pardoe, speech depart- ment head, stated this weak. Dave Mitchell. Pardoe, they have worked out a streamlined version of the West's cideft drama festival and the state's oldest drama tourament for senior high schools. The festival will be conducted on the lower campus of th? B. Y. U. with competition in one act plays, dramatic readings, humorous humor-ous readings, radio skits, and r-'told r-'told stories. There will be no for-ensies for-ensies in this year's tournament, clays should not exceed ."() min-I min-I utes. I Due to transportation limita- 1 tions only the first 12 schools entering en-tering the one-act plays competition compet-ition will be accepted, Dr. Pardoe stipulated Entries should be made to Dr. Pardoe of the speech department de-partment and the first 12 entries in this division will be notified immediately of their acceptance. Entries into the other divisions ! will be unlimited as to number, and all senior high schools m the state are eligible to compete if they have legitimate transporta- i tion. If possible the festival will be confined to Saturday but if necessary, Friday evening and Saturday wiil be used. The festival will be conducted on the basis of merit as Vfnr Schools will b entered in Cass A and B competition according to present divisions. Class A schools are those having an enrollment of more than 500 and Class B schools are those with an enrollment enroll-ment of less than 500. The usual awards will be made and the traditional tra-ditional banquet held. |
