Show UTAH DAIRY HERDS RANK ABOVE U. S. AVERAGE Utah's dairy animals and dairy herd production ranks above average, which speaks well for the dairymen of Utah who have waged a long campaign cam-paign for better animals and higher production. Many of the top prize-winning animals in sectional and western shows are Utah animals. The caliber of the dairy production of the animals ani-mals in our dairy counties is shown in a report on the Utah County herds belonging to the Dairy Herd Improvement Associations. Asso-ciations. The summary for the 1947-48 year shows the Utah County herd to be well above average. Cows in the association associa-tion in Utah Countv averaged 9,200 pounds of milk and 350 pounds of butterfat. The highest high-est herd in the county produced 13,848 ipounds of milk and 623 pounds of butterfat Next highest high-est produced 13,817 pounds of milk and 518 pounds of butterfat. |
