Show CHIT CHAT By Lee Anderson Birthdays on Sunday are getting get-ting to be habits. Three weeks ago it was LLOYD JOHNSON and two Sundays past friends gathered at a party for BISHOP KEITH C. CASPER. KENT JONES, five year old son of MR. and MRS. CLARENCE CLAR-ENCE JONES, 1171 Blaine Aye., has polio. Fortunately it is a light case and he is up and playing play-ing around but is on a strict diet and has to be packed with hot cloths twice a day. More1 illness, this time it is CHICK WADE, a former superintendent of the stake M. I. A. He underwent under-went a kidney operation the day after Christmas. He is on the road to recovery. More misery, RUTH CHIPMAN SMITH spilled spill-ed a pan of hot grease all over her left hand and is having quite a time with it. First grandson for MR. and MRS. GEORGE N. CLARK over on 17th South. Their son, CHESTER CHES-TER (Chet) and his wife were the recipients of a fine boy the past week. . . . Bishop Casper read letters from ERASTUS ANDERSON in Denmark. He is slightly homesick home-sick but enioying his mission. . DALE REED thinks the South African mission the only one to go to. ELAINE CHIPMAN is learning to eat Mexican food but is not sure the result is worth the effort. Says we have a mistaken opinion of the people they are clean and very fine even if they are quite poor. Saw A R L O HUFFAKER home for the holidays from Fort Ord, Calif., where he is stationed for the present. . . . VIVIAN PRICE had a wonderful Christmas. Christ-mas. They joined her other sisters sis-ters and their families at her parents' home for a real family reunion and celebrated Viv's birthday on Christmas day. Her parents are MR. and MRS. RIN-NIE RIN-NIE WHITEHEAD and sisters are MRS. ORION RICH and family of Layton, MRS. LEONARD LEON-ARD JONES and MRS. LEONARD LEON-ARD GARDNER of Salt Lake with their families. Then they climaxed the occasion with a tabogganing party at Layton. . . CHICK WADE had a birthday Christmas, too, and a fine time with all his friends at an open house during the day. . . BETH BELL BRADY, husband, BUR-NESS, BUR-NESS, and their baby daughter visited with parents ARLENE and CLIFFORD BELL during the holidays. . . Staying with VIRGINIA WELL until their new home is built is her sister KATHERINE, her husband BARON OLESON and their brand new son born Dec. 7 . . The REISERS really celebrated this Christmas. BETTY brought hubby and baby MITCH home and DAVID and MARILYN got themselves engaged under the misteltoe. - EMILY WILDE has had her youngsters sick but now they are up and around. Last week MR. and MRS. VERNON BEERS had a Beers family reunion re-union at their home. Turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Gifts were exchanged and everyone ev-eryone had a wonderful time. Special guest was MRS. BEERS' mother, MRS. G. F. NAYLOR. Those present were MR. and MRS. ARTHUR BEERS of Og-den Og-den and their family. MR. and MRS. ALLEN BEERS, MR. and MRS. THOMAS F. WILLIAMS and families of Centerville and MR. and MRS. GLEN LARSEN and family of Murray, MR. and MRS. OSWALD WILDE, FLORENCE, FLO-RENCE, assisted her mother in serving. |
