Show DOMG THE TOWN i By Elaine Cannon Pink eared bunnies hopping along counter tops . . . baby chicks peeping and cheeping in nursery store windows . . easter-egg coloring demonstrations . . . candy eggs . . . chocolate eggs . . . jelly beans . . big baskets, little baskets . . . bunny carts ... all this and milady's spring bonnet spell Easter in Sugar House. This city within a city has been bulging its progressive sides with shoppers these past few weeks. Everybody has something or other to buy in our wonderful shops hereabouts. We heard, too, that lots of folks are planning on attending the symphony concert Saurday night to show off their fancy duds. That's just one reason, of course. Nobody wants to miss this final fi-nal performance of the season of our wonderful Utah Symphony . Orchestra. Program is all request and promises to be highly pleasurable. Bob and Margaret Richards plan to attend the concert as do Peggy and Les Hewlett ... the Cal Sorensons have tickets, too. OMrs- Jack Fairclough entertained several of her friends at their home on Alpine Place Wednesday evening. Mrs. Bill Hansen, Han-sen, Mrs. Bob Christensen, Mrs. Frank Jex, among those present. It was only for the week end but it was wonderful fun while it lasted . . . Dick Smoot and Barbara McKean and Mr. and Mrs. Aldon Jr. Anderson took a quick trip down to the southern parks for a bit of sightseeing last week end- The Andersons live at 2805 So. 2420 East St. Did you hear' abut the newcomer new-comer in the J. W- R. Robinson family? It's a baby brother for 5-year-old Joan. The nine pound, 15 ounce nuskv lad was "born Friday at the LDS Hospital and according to rumor will be named David. The mother is the former Elinor Cannon. It's a girl for Mr. and Mrs. Harry Jones of 1955 Hollywood Ave. The Garth M. McDaniels, 555 Kensington Ave., and Mr-and Mr-and Mrs. Ferrin G. Whipple. 2135 'Wilmington Ave., both became be-came parents of baby girls this week, too. The former Marjean Anderson, Ander-son, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Anderson, 2485 Highland High-land Dr., is visiting in Salt Lake at the present time. She is the wife of Bill Day and the couple brought their young daughter, Karen Marjean, along to see grandma and grandpa Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Elias L- Day, 327 Milton Ave., who are also grandparents. Bill has been studying in Chicago at Northwestern University on his master's degree. They'll return after Easter vacation. 'Member Virginia Heilbut, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Philip S. Heilbut, 1370 Kensington Ave.? Well, she's Mrs. Donald F. Riggs now you know, and recently became the mother of a little daughter. The tiny newcomer has a 4-year-old brother, Dennis, who is awaiting await-ing the return home of Mommy and baby. The Riggs live in Provo- Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Riggs, 1287 E. 17th South, are paternal grandparents. One of our southeastern young men recently took a Springville girl for his bride. The newly-weds newly-weds in this case are Miss Louise Storey (formerly, that is) and Lawrence R. Heiselt. Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Heiselt, 1217 9th East St., told us that the wedding of their son and new daughter-in-.law took place in February. - Another wedding of note among southeastern nuptial events took place in the Salt Lake Temple not-so-long-ago when the former Miss Chyrell Sorenson of 2695 Beverly St-, became the bride of Richard J. Motzkus, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard C. Motzkus, 1455 Parkway Park-way Ave. 1 It's a sparkling diamond telling tell-ing romantic news for Pearl Darlene Osguthorpe and Maurice Mau-rice C. Lyon. They plan a late March wedding at the home of Dr. and Mrs. D. A. Osguthorpe, 4686 Highland Dr. The bride-elect bride-elect is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Osguthorpe, 3659 20th East St. Th benedict is a son of the G. B. Lyons, 941 13th East. |
