Spotlighting I UTAH WOULD CURB ACCIDENTS Joe Bergin, state aeronautics director, has recommended sweeping changes in civil aeronautics aero-nautics regulations to combat Utah's rising private plane accident ac-cident rate. "It requires more training to become a proficient flyer in Utah's high mountainous country, coun-try, than in level sections of the nation," declares Mr. Bergin. Bergin's action followed the last serious private plane accident when pilot Glade A. Peterson was lost for 36 hours in freezing freez-ing weather before being found crashed and nearly dead in the tops of the Manti mountains. In the meantime, Utah schoolmen school-men were studying the necessity of directing teachers in building build-ing up an awareness in their students of the importance of aircraft in the world today as well as the future. As a probable prob-able result aviation courses will be mapped, for schools in the near future- TURKEY PRODUCTION UP Six years ago, Utah was 15th in the national production of turkeys.
