Show , : . j Civic Philharmonic, Choir To Present Concert Dec. 28 Fred Tedesco Commissioner of Parks and Joe L. Christen-sen Christen-sen of the recreation department depart-ment announce that final arrangements ar-rangements have been made for the presentation of the city's Christmas candlelight cheer week musicale by the Salt Lake City Philharmonic Symphony orchestra and choir under the direction of Henry Miller, it's conductor. This will be held ai the South High auditorium, Fri day evening, Dec. 2S. According to Lynn Sorensen, general personnel manager, a carefully selected program has been arranged for by Dirctor Miller. Among the highlights of music being presented are "The to the Evening Star," Wagner; Massenets "Aragonaise"; and "The Hallelujah Chorus" from the Messiah by Handel. Several guest artists will be on the program, including Alfred Al-fred Schmidt featuring the song "What Has Caused Thy , Heart to Roam" from "La Trav- i iata," by Verdi, and Ida Norman Harline singing Brahm's Lullaby Lulla-by with the Symphony Strings, accompaniment. Harriet Chamberlain Cham-berlain will be narrator. The choir will sing "Gesu Bambino" Bam-bino" by Yon, the prayer from Humperdinck's "Haensel and Gretel" and some selections of Christmas carols. A choir quartet quar-tet consisting of Colleen Smith, Shawnie Kent, Bud Anderson, and Stiles Thomas will participate parti-cipate in several selections. Janice Jan-ice Ford and Darrell Kay, a duet, will render "0, Holy Night" With the choir, Darlene Kmetzsch is soloist of the choir. The orchestra and choir have a membership of 150 young peo- pie. Joel Garrett is concert master mast-er with Dean, Eggertsen alternating. alter-nating. The general public is invited. Tickets can be obtained at the City and County Building, Room , 312.
