X REMEMBER ELECTION NIGHT, UUNE 13, 8 P.M. AT JUDD'S. Chlairman Roy Linton of the entertainment committee r e-minds e-minds me that Gus P. Backman. executive secretary of the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce will . be guest speaker at our regular June dinner (meeting at Judd's on the night of June 13 at 8 p.m. Mr. Backman will speak on the subject "Geneva" and will comment briefly on what we can do to assist in the Utah state cenenial. By the way, and this will be' the last reminder that you have in this column: Thursday, June 13, is election night! Every member mem-ber should plan to be in attendance attend-ance at this meeting. Be sure that you bring along the official ballot that was mailed out to you on .he 23rd of May by Secretary Sec-retary Roy Hobbs. If you desire to mark your ballot at home that's your affair, but be sure that you bring it along with the ballot number attached. This number must not be removed until your ballot has been cast. Vote for whom you may but be sure that you are on hand to cast your ballot. JUNE 13TH AT JUDDS. Two weeks ago due to a typographical error the Salt Lake Lions Club was given credit for the assistance we re ceived in securing our new big buses. They are a fine bunch of follows but credit, should have gone to the Salt Lake City LINES. The regular monthly meeting of the board of directors was held at the home of Lion Joe Mallory, 2200 Walker's Lane. The major portion of the meeting meet-ing was spent discussing what can we do to enlarge the recreation rec-reation program in Salt Lake county. The Salt Lake County recreation recrea-tion association, has announced announc-ed the following times, dates and regularly scheduled events for the isummer recreation program; Arts and Crafts Monday and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Dancing Mondays, 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Swimming starting June 10 or June 17, .depending on the weather. wea-ther. The swimming pool will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m., daily except Sundays. Sun-days. A program of supervised sports will be offered from 4 to 7 p.m. daily except Sundays. Everyone in the Holladay area is invited to join in this recreation recrea-tion program Send the kids over to the dancing and arts and crafts classes and give them the advantage of this summer training. This is a tax-paid recreation program and there will be no admission charge to any of these events and every one should take part in them. ' |
