Show r r - . ... .1 I Sports Specialties - by "Pete" What a place this Salt Lake City is! From now on there will be skiing in the mountains and still we an play golf and the like here in the valley. I've seen the time when both the skiers and the golfers were doing their fUuff in shirt .sleeves. This is really "God's Country." The gotf courses are in the pink of condition. The greens are holding pitch shots and the fairways are all in good shape. In fact they are a little tougher Isasmuch as there is very little roll to shots of any kind. That condition calls for real golf and it is a real pleasure. Now that the season is drawing draw-ing to a close, golf clubs and equipment are starting to roll in. Jiy Christmas you will find more golf clubs in the stores than you have seen all summer. If you are in the market for new clubs for the future, start shopping shop-ping now. While checking on Nome dope in archery this week, I noticed some of the flight .shooting records for the past scasort. It's hard to realize that the free style "flight shot" has been set at well over six hundred yards. Take number ten at Fort Douglas or number two at Forest Dale, and even number three at Bonneville, as a comparison. They are all over the five hundred yard |
