Show Overtime Parking Violators Tagged Police are redoubling their efforts to stamp out the recent epidemic of car prowls by going go-ing direct to the source of the trouble the car owner Who leaves his car parked overnight on city streets. Lt Charles J. Larson, local police chief, stated that within the last week local officers have issued 33 overtime parking citations ci-tations to townspeople who leave their cars on city streets overnight. The law forbids such aciion, he stated. Furthermore, Further-more, car thieves are increasing their activities. Last week two automobile owners were victims vic-tims of car prowlers in the Sugar Su-gar House area. One car parked in the lot back of the Southeast Theater was robbed of two sidewall rims and two hubcaps. Another automo- bile in the residential area was O I looted. Clothing and traveling J equipment stolen was valued at $100. Lt. Larson offered three rules of advice to car owners: (1) Keep vour cars off the streets at night. (2) See to it that your car is securely locked whenever you are out of it no matter how long. (3) Put valuables in trunk. where would-be thieves, can't see them. j I |
