Show S. H, Chamber to Hear Noted Artist Tuesday; Canyon Party Set Wednesday promises to be an outstanding affair, and all chamber members, mem-bers, their wives and families are invited to turn out. There'll be hot dogs, pop and watermelon watermel-on for all, and a full evening's program of entertainment, sports events, races, and features for groups of al ages. The event is being planned by the program committee, headed by Paul L. Pehrson, and including Mickey ! Hart, Sid Ottley and Al Larsen. It is planned that moving pictures pic-tures of the gathering will be taken to be shown at later chamber cham-ber meetings, and another special spe-cial feature will be an impromptu impromp-tu talent show for the kids during dur-ing which recordings will be made and presented to the par-i par-i ticipants. j Don't forget the date Wed-I Wed-I nesday, Aug 21, 5 p.m., and the place, Storm Mountain in Big ; Cottonwood. Members of the chamber this week received their first copies of the monthly bulletin being prepared by the new executive secretary, Con D. Silard, and giving giv-ing a complete roundup of chamber cham-ber business. Major Silard moved mov-ed into the new chamber headquarters head-quarters at 1119 E. 21st So. the first of the month, and several chamber board and committee meetings have been held there. The first bulletin reported progress being made on the proposal pro-posal to eliminate the unsightly utility poles in the business district dis-trict and install a new "white way" lighting system; and also reported on conferences which have been held in connection with prison site development, the taxicab situation and other matters of chamber interest. Meanwhile, the chamber invites invit-es all its members to visit the new chamber offices, and make it a focal point for business affairs af-fairs in the area and a clearing house for general information. There are big doings ahead for the Sugar House Chamber of 1 Commerce next week. To begin with, the regular August membership mem-bership luncheon is set for Tuesday Tues-day at 12:15 at Weasku Inn, and the following day, Wednesday, the annual summer picnic and canyon party will be staged at Storm Mountain in Big Cottonwood. At Tuesday's meeting a special treat is in store in the appearance appear-ance as guest speaker of Dr. Avard Fairbanks, world famed Utah sculptor who throughout the war served as a public relations re-lations consultant for the Ford company at Willow Run. Also at Tuesday's meeting the membership member-ship will pass on proposed revisions re-visions and amendments in the chamber's constitution and bylaws, by-laws, and new members will be introduced.
