Show O Noted Savants Will Attend 6IP Inaugural Presidents of two of America's largest universities will be speakers at the formal inauguration inaugu-ration of Dr. A. Ray Olpin as president of the University of Utah Oct. 15 and 16. The speakers will be Dr. James Lewis Morrill, president of the University of Minnesota, and Dr. Howard L. Bevis, president presi-dent of Ohio State University. Both are close personal friends of Dr. Olpin. Dr. Morrill formerly former-ly was president of Wyoming University, and last year became be-came president of the University Univer-sity of Minnesota. He will speak at the formal inaugural ceremonies scheduled for Oct. 16 in Kingsbury Hall. Dr. Bevis will be speaker at a civic luncheon sponsored by the Salt Lake chamber of commerce and Salt Lake Rotary club Oct. 15 in honor of Dr. Olpin, who is a member of the 'Rotary club. Other events on the two-day program will include a symposium symposi-um discussion on Oct. 15 of a question of vital importance to the state of Utah, with a public banquet in the evening. The formal inaugural ceremony on Oct. 16 will be followed by a buffet buf-fet luncheon in the Union building, build-ing, with a public reception in the afternoon. President and Mrs. Olpin will be hosts at a reception re-ception at their home in the evening eve-ning for inauguration guests. General chairman in charge of arrangements for the inaugural ceremony is A Hamer Reiser, member of the board of regents. The university central committee commit-tee is undr the chairmanship of William H. Leary, dean of the law school. State, civic and educational leaders will be invited to par-. par-. ticipate in the inaugural cere- () monies, Dean Leary announced. |
