Show Drive-in Movie Opens Today U t a h's newest amusement center, the $140,000 Redwood Road Drive-in Theater and playground, 3700 Redwood Road, will open 6 p.m. Friday July 22, Manager Irving Gill-man Gill-man announced Thursday. "The Iiig Cat," a technicolor picture filmed at Hoosier Lake in the heart of the Wasatch Mountains, will introduce the program of early run hitu planned for the new drive-in show house. Lon McCallister Peggy Ann Garner, and Preston Foster are starred in this drama of outdoor life. Selected short films will round out the program. pro-gram. Plannd as more than just a drive-in theater, Mr.. Gillman said, the Redwood Theater has been built for the accommodation accommoda-tion of large outdoor or family parties. . To this end, provision has been made for picnic tables, barbecue pits, wading pool, swings, and trains and pony rides for children. Theater equipment includes a 46 by 60 foot screen, numbered and lighted ramps for approximately approx-imately 600 cars, magic moonlight moon-light illumination, individual speakers for each car, push but-j ton signals for refreshment service and bottle warmers for babies. In addition, individual seats have been built for patrons, pa-trons, who do not desire to see the show from their cars. A good way to widen out the straight and narrow path would be for more people to walk on it. |
