Beauty Salon Opens in S. H. Mrs. Carrie Forsgren and Mrs. Estelle Riches have announced an-nounced the opening of their new beauty salon and training school, the Carel (pronounced "care-'ell") Institute of Beauty Culture. Named after the first names of its owners and operators, opera-tors, Carel Institute is located on the second floor of the Sugar House Bakery, at 1061 E. 21 So. St. After three months of remodeling, re-modeling, the Institute opened last week, boasting a completely modern and attractive interior. It is divided into several reception, recep-tion, school and office rooms, al deecorated in excellent taste. The school itself will accommodate accommo-date 40 students who may take a complete nine months' course in 'cosmetology. After graduation, gradua-tion, students may then take the state board examination and receive their licenses. . Students at Carel Institute will receive competent instruction instruc-tion from four well-trained beauticians, including the two owners. Both Mrs. Riches and Mrs. Forsgren have over 20 years of experience in the profession. pro-fession. Mrs. Riches has been the head technician in the western district for one of the largest beauty and simpiy houses in the west. She has owned and operated oper-ated beauty shops For six years she manasred a beauty shop for one of the largest department stores in Idaho Under her training train-ing and guidance, many young oprators have established successful suc-cessful shops throughout the state. Mrs. Forsgren brings a keen interest in and technical knowledge knowl-edge of all branches of beauty work. Covering the western states, she has conducted hair styling clinics for one of the largest manufacturers of beauty beau-ty products in the U.S. She was for many years an active member mem-ber of the State Association of Cosmeticians, a part ol the time serving as secretary.
