Show Floner Festival At State Capitol Oct. 5th and 6th The Utah State Capitol building build-ing will play host to flower lovers the state over on October 5th and 6th, when the Utah State Florist Association and the Utah Associated Asso-ciated Garden Clubs join forces in sponsoring the "Utah Flower Festival." One of the loveliest and most unique shows of its kind the festival will come as a culmination of the year's outstanding out-standing exhibits which have been held throughout the year. The purpose of the show have been stated, "... to promote interest in-terest in the culture of flowers, in preparation for the Centennial, Centenn-ial, and in the future beatification beatifica-tion of our state." A Grand Sweepstakes and three place prizes, will be awarded. Also, the garden club winning the most points will be awarded the UTAH STATE FLORISTS ASSOCIATION ASSOCIA-TION TROPHY. This coveted trophy must be won three consecutive con-secutive years before it becomes a permanent possession. Stratford,' Hostess; Mrs. Cleo Shipp, Classification; Mrs. Erwin Miller, Receiving Room; Mrs. Dorothy' Newbold, Awards; Mrs. L. T. Hansen, Clerk; Mrs. G. B. Kendall and Mart Jorgensen, Publicity; Mr. W. M. Keller, Hospitality; Mr. John Boyden, Photographer; Mrs. L. W. Hillam, Mrs. David L. Bowen and Mrs. Carlton Jones, Exhibitors' Guides. |
