Show Legion Junior Ball Players Get Uniforms Just too late to dress them up for league play, the smart new uniforms for the Sugar House Legion post junior hall team arrived ar-rived this week, but at least one post-season game is being lined up to give the boys a chance to appear in their new finery. Clay Mills, athletic manager of the Post 65 nine, has been rustling hard since way last spring trying to get the suits for the team, but what with shortages, priorities and a hundred hun-dred other obstacles, they weren't were-n't to be had, and the team played through the season in levis, sweat shirts and other nondescript non-descript garb the' furnished themselves, and they made a good showing, too. They finished third in the Salt Lake county circuit with a record rec-ord of eight wins, five losses and one tie game. They were barely nosed out of a place in the state tournament by a half a game margin by the Mervyn Bennion post which got two games handed to them free by forfeitures. Bingham, league leader all the way, took the county title and then walked off with the state championship. They will now enter the regional play-off with a chance of entering enter-ing the national tournament. The Sugar House team,' sponsored spon-sored by Petty Motor, played good consistent ball all season doing an especially smart job in fielding. The hitting was just a little spotty, but Clay feels they made a credfltable showing all around. The Sugar House post will hold its annual celebration and outing at Lagoon Aug. 23, and arrangements are now being made for the team to play a game, up there in the new uniforms. uni-forms. The opponents haven't been definitely scheduled yet, but will probably be the Ben-nion-Bennett post of Salt Lake or else the Ogden post aggregation. aggrega-tion.
