Show SUP Members See Ute Relics I Members of the Sugar House Sons of Utah Pioneers met Monday evening at the Beau Brummel Restaurant, 3 10 0 Highland Drive, for their monthly dinner meeting. Following Fol-lowing dinner and chapter business, busi-ness, the members journeyed to the S.Ui.P. Museum, 3000 Connor Con-nor St. (2140 East)., to inspect the newly-added Dillman cot-lection cot-lection of valuable Indian relics. rel-ics. Mr. Sorensen described the background of the Dillman collection col-lection to the members, and told the histories of many of the antique items. Of particular interest was the petroglyph markings on a piece of sand stone indicating a knowledge of the story of Christ by the Indians. The stone is from 1200 to 1700 years old. The unique collection, plus the hundreds of authentic pioneer pi-oneer relics in the museum, will soon be ready for public display, dis-play, Mr. Sorensen announced. Horace A. Sorensen, chapter president, presided, while Ralph A. Barnes, second vice president, conducted theN evening's eve-ning's activities. During the business meeting it was announced an-nounced that Rulon J. Sperry, 1365 Roosevelt Ave., would be the new chapter secretary. Lorenzo Lo-renzo B. Summerhays resigned from the post when a teachinig assignment made it impossible to attend meetings. A museum committee was named, consisting of Marvin Wallin, chairman; and Garn Henderson, Karl B. Hale, and Howard McKean, committee members. |
