They urged exeryone who has not been X-rayed to do so before be-fore the Nov. 5 deadline. Starting Friday business houses will be canvassed to determine de-termine how many local employes em-ployes have been X-rayed. Stores whose employes have been X-rayed 100 per cent will receive merit certificates from the association. Mrs. David J. Searle, co-chairman of the neigborhood committee com-mittee for Salt Lake County, praised the work of the people of the southeast area. "We are pleased with the cooperation co-operation we've had so far, and we want to enlist the help of as many men and women as possible. We know we can go over the top in X-rays taken with the active participation of all individuals and groups in the county." Mrs. Searle stressed the ease with which a person can have a free chest X-ray. "It takes less than a minute, there is no undressing, un-dressing, and the report is confidential." con-fidential." Sponsors The program is being financed fi-nanced by the city, county and state health departments, the Tuberculosis Association. Community Com-munity Chest, Cancer Society, Medical Society. Equipment and technical personnel are being loaned to the community by United States Public Health Service. The Salt Lake area is the ninth area of its size to have a community-wide, chest X-ray program. Other towns which have conducted a tuberculosis control program include Columbus, Colum-bus, Georgia; Minneapolis; St. Paul: Seattle: Spokane; Tacoma; I Denver, and Cleveland. |
