Show Red Cross Chairman Calls For Last Minute Push in Drive "The first two weeks' response re-sponse to the 1951 Red Cross drive in this area has been fairly fair-ly good, but we still have a lot of work to be done and earnestly earn-estly solicit the help of everyone every-one in winding up the campaign," cam-paign," according to S. Morgan Sorensen, chairman of the drive in the Sugar House district. "The establishment of a blood bank in the Salt Lake Area is going to be of immense value to everyone in this region because it means there will be an immediate imme-diate supply of blood available for any local emergency as well as for military or civilian needs elsewhere. The blood bank will mean a huge expansion of Red l Cross activities in this area. For that reason more funds are going go-ing to be needed and we must all do our part," added Mr. Sorensen. Sor-ensen. "Most people are giving about the same amount as last year. We need about 30 per cent more money to carry on the program set up last year plus the new program for civil defense de-fense that means protection for all of us, if it is needed. I hope we'll all try to give a little more so that the wonderful work being done by the Red Cross can be continued and expanded ex-panded in 1951," says the district dis-trict leader The Red Cross drive will continue con-tinue through March 31. |
