Show Doing The Town By ELAINE CANNON Weren't you proud of our Sugar House furniture stores? Really, they did a fine job at the style show last week. Maybe May-be we're prejudiced, but we think (and we heard lots of folks say the same thing) that the local stores were tops in the whole show. Saw Mrs. Oscar G. Booth doing some-shopping for her small fry out here at one of our nicest children's shops. Carol Dee Stuard -ind a rhnm picked up some school supplies sup-plies at the dime store. . . . Saw Jo Dyksman in the jewelry jew-elry store. . . . Mrs. Thomas Valle, Mrs. Gene Lees, Mrs. Tex Martin were others we have seen hereabouts. We're so happy to hear that Corinne Godbe Miles is on the much, much better list. We're feeling plenty unhappy because Mrs. Jesse Mortensen is ill in the hospital and that Mrs. Rodney Rod-ney Egan has been so under-the-weather. Speedy recovery to you all! Saw Mrs. Bob Groesbeck looking very collegiate, as she waited on a street corner in a tweed skirt and cashmere sweat", iihirl was waiting for her sister Pat. Lets of South-easterners and big-city folks, too, are waiting anxiously itor the swank ifashion show and luncheon that the EMC Lady Lions are staging at the Ladies' Literary Club this Saturday.. Sounds like a very . vely ar.'.air. We'll see you there. H' The Leslie Kui'bidges have had n very exciting weekend with Eleanor Steber, the concert con-cert artist, and her husband. They stayed mp at the Al-p;i: Al-p;i: e Rose Lodge in Brighton for a day or so, and took in the Tabernacle choir Sunday concrrt and many other scenic sce-nic things alMMrt our beauti- ful city. Dr. and Mrs. Bur-bidge Bur-bidge are the perfect hosts, we'd say. Emma Jean Dunn, daughter of Mrs. Lydia Young Dunn, 1236 Ninth East, is to be married to Wayne R. Whitksck before very long. A clever tea given by her aunt, Miss Jean Dunn, 1142 Roosevelt Ave, revealed the happy event. v Mr. and Mrs. Parley Eccles were in town for conference. Those popular people had to hustle to see all of their many friends. The Delta Phi Mothers are planning a festive opening for the year's activities. The first meeting, Saturday, will be followed fol-lowed by a tea, with Mrs. L. H. Stobbe in charge. All mothers of returned missionaries at the University of Utah are invited to attend. Reception hours w'ill be from 2 to 4 p.m. in the LDS Institute of Religion, 274 University Uni-versity St. |
